Dan is a 1973 graduate of Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk; a 1977 graduate of the College of William and Mary; and a 1980 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. Dan was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1980 and has practiced in the Hampton Roads area since then, first with the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk and then in private practice. He is a state certified Guardian ad litem for juveniles and for incapacitated adults. Dan is married and has two children. Dan served as Scoutmaster of Troop 24, Boy Scouts of America, served on the board of Chesapeake Bay Academy, a Virginia Beach school for learning disabled children, and on the board of The Ballentine, an assisted living facility in Norfolk.
